I especially want to point out the Craigslist template generator tutorial below. The Craigslist template generator is a new feature to PublicRealty.org. Basically, it takes the content from your listing and generates html code for you to paste into listings on other sites such as Craigslist, Ebay and other sites that permit html markup.

How much more can housing prices fall?

It is no secret that housing prices are on a slippery slope. If you are a seller, life it very tough for you right now.  You are asking yourself…How much more drop can I take?….Should I just cut my losses now?….Can I prevent foreclosure?

According to this blog post, the author suggests real estate prices have only fallen 30% of what they will fall in the near future. Is there another 70% drop ahead? If you are a buyer or an investor, you hope it does. If you are a seller, you are holding your breath!

How to remove permanent marker from anything…

My 3 year old son found a sharpie (permanent marker) this weekend. Before I realized he had it … he made his mark on everything in the house. If you have marks on the walls of your house, you might try baking soda toothpaste. It worked wonders on our house. Watch the video!

Apparently, Real Estate Scams from the 1990s are back. Some scammers are posing as landlords … stealing rent checks. Others claim to be foreclosure specialists. It is sad to think the scammers are purposefully targeting individuals that are already in a tight spot.

Refinance and lose 15 years of payments

My wife and I have been working on getting our finances in order….budgeting…paying off debt…etc. With this new “cut corners” mentalitiy, I started looking at the current interest rates and thought about refinancing our house. We are currently on a 30 year fixed at 6.82% rate. We talked with our bank. They mentioned a lower 5% interest rate for 15 years. Our monthly payments will still go up, but according to my math ( and online amortization calculators ) it is only about $180 a month. I will save over $110,000 throughout the life of the mortgage.
