PublicRealty.org is a free real estate listing website. Agents and Owners are encouraged to list houses on our site free of charge. We do offer realty supplies to assist in the sale of properties. However, purchase is not required.
We believe free online listings combined with yard signs promoting the website will allow Owners as well as Agents to gain exposure for house sales. You may be asking yourself, “Why offer this service for free?”. In 2006, I had made the mistake of purchasing a new house before selling my old house.
I had two house payments and had to make a certain amount on the old house. Our first Realtor tried very hard to help us sell our house but the housing market was falling fast. After 90 days, we moved on to a “fixed fee” realtor. This realtor offered to sell our house for a fixed fee of $1995. This allowed us to drop the price of our house in hopes of selling it faster. The only catch was that they did not list our house on the local MLS.
Having two house payments for four months was very stressful. We eventually sold the house, but it was a real struggle. During this short period, I got just a taste of real estate marketing. It is a tough business. The costs associated with MLS dues, Homes magazines, Websites and News Paper Ads get expensive quickly. This is the reason most people use a Realtor. Realtors truely have their work cut out for them.
Although it is a tough game for Realtors, they at least have training and resources. Owners trying to sell their home without a Realtor have an even tougher time. They normally do not have the money to invest in “Home’s Magazines” and they do not have the ability to list their house on MLS. They rely on yard signs and news paper listings … for the most part.
This is the reason I created PublicRealty.org. My goal is to create a Real Estate Community that allows anyone to list their house for free. You may say, “Big Deal, there are several sites that allow people to list their house for free. What makes your site different?”
The difference is the yard signs and that we allow owners and Realtors to list for free. Every person that lists their house on our site and posts a yard sign creates awareness for all the houses listed on the site. We are the only site to offer promotional signs and with the exception of Google Base and Craigslist, all other free sites only allow owners to list for free and charge agents.
I would like to offer a place that allows Realtors and Owners to save money.
